Natural Relief for Spring Allergies using Homeopathy

Spring is in the air...and so are the allergens. Skip the antihistamines this year, and give something more natural and gentler a try.

Introducing: Homeopathy. Unfamiliar with it? Let's break it down.

Homeopathy is based on the principle of "like cures like" meaning that a substance that causes symptoms in a healthy person can be used in tiny, highly diluted amounts to treat similar symptoms in someone who is unwell. This may seem paradoxical, but the idea is that these microdoses stimulate the body's natural healing response.

For example, a substance such as an onion (latin name=Allium Cepa) that causes symptoms such as burning, watery eyes and a runny nose in a large dose can relieve those symptoms in an extremely diluted dose.

There are a number of remedies to choose between to help manage spring allergy symptoms. Keep in mind, you may experience unique allergy symptoms based on where you live, the type of allergen and your individual constitution. It's important to be aware of the subtle differences in these homeopathic remedies for allergies.

All that said, keeping a few of these common remedies on hand for allergies may help provide some relief for the following:

Runny nose: Allium Cepa 30C
Watery eyes: Euphrasia 30C
Long term hay fever: Natrum Mur 30C

For chronic allergies use, or to get a more individually tailored protocol, it is best to work with a homeopathic practitioner.
